Preparing for our next Adventure!

For the last six months we have been planning this trip. THE BIG ONE .The trip of a lifetime. A trip of which folks with a wandering soul often only dream.  A five month leisurely journey across this magnificent and picturesque country in the comfort of our very own home-on-wheels!

Raincoats still able to withstand a Monsoon?   Check!
( doesn't everyone use the shower for testing? )
For those of you that don't know me well, one of my personality traits, should I say, ”quirks”, is that I am a “planner” and that I take the meaning of  "preventive maintenance” to a whole new level.  Whether it is the home, autos, bicycles, or RV; any item that is suggested to be maintained,it is. I read manuals, forums, etc.  I would hate for us to be relating "horror stories" of a mechanical failure out on the road at our next fireside gathering.

Our hands were cramping; not only from the hard work, but from writing checks! We feel personally responsible for many a mortgage paid and mouths fed!

After weeks of hard work, Norm and I have now left the house ready for a hurricane of epic proportions, and clean enough (even the windows?? Yes, I am admitting to this "quirk" ) that we will be happy to return, and not embarrassed by its condition should something horrendous happen and we don’t.

Shoe actually waterproof?  Check!
(Standing in a bathtub perfect for this test )

Norm doing his thing.....

My Motto- BE PREPARED!!! There will
be bears out there! Bear Spray very with belt
holsters very hard to find!

We are so very fortunate to be able to take such a fabulous vacation, but the costs are great. Monetarily, is obvious. But the most difficult will be the inability to watch my daughter's now 6 1/2 month old baby girl experience all those many "firsts". I can't believe how much I love that little character! We also won't get a chance to see Norman's new grandson ( due in a couple of weeks ) until we fly out of Salt Lake City in the first part of August.

Just how hard do you think it was to leave
this little character?

Another Grandchild on the way!
Our lives keep getting richer and richer!
